More about the three daily meals
Breakfast: (le petit déjeuner) This meal usually is lighter, consists of croissants, bread, coffee. Don’t expect a typical breakfast of eggs and bacon in France. In addition, it is usually less expensive to have your breakfast in a café rather than in your hotel. You can get breakfast from about 7- 10 a.m in a café.
Lunch: (le déjeuner) You can grab a sandwich at a café or a sandwich stand if you are short on time or money, or head to a bistro, restaurant or brasserie for a larger lunch. Lunchtime is usually noon – 2:30.
Dinner: (le diner) Don’t go to a restaurant any earlier than 7. Typical dinner times are 7:30-10:00 or 11:00.
Again, remember that TIPS ARE INCLUDED, but it’s always nice to leave a little bit extra (but not too much, or it looks like you’re showing off).
And finally, keep in mind that the more French you speak, the more you will be appreciated. (Even if it’s just a couple of words). Remember, waiters in cafes, (especially in touristy areas) are rushed and not usually very up-beat.
