Paris is synonymous with good food, but for the average tourist that is not always so easy to find. First of all, the touristy areas are full of restaurants but they may not be a great example of what Paris has to offer. Venture off the beaten path and you might find something wonderful, but it’s always good to have some sort of a plan or recommendation. This is why so many of my friends ask “Where should we eat?” before heading out to the gastronomic capital of the world. There is so much to choose from, and in this website I recommend what I believe to be the best representation of Parisian dining. But before we get to the good stuff, here are some helpful hints to make your dining experience memorable:
- Guidelines & Rules of Etiquette - Do’s, Don’ts and Tips to Remember
- Dining Establishments - What’s What? Cafes, Bistros, Brasseries…What’s the difference?
- French Meals - More about the three daily meals
- The French Menu - About the Menu: Fixed-price or "á la carte"
- The Dining Experience - Getting through your meal, and some good cafe vocabulary
- How do you say “Chicken”? - More great “food” vocabulary for dining in France.
