One of my favorite delis in Paris has always been Jo Goldenberg on the Rue des Rosiers. I’ve learned through various online travel forums that they are closing, at least temporarily, due to some health code violations. This is not good news for Jo, which has been an institution in the Marais for decades.
Until they reopen, a cleaner and better deli, I’ll head across the street to L’As du Fallafel.

I was devastated to see Jo Goldenberg’s closed and shuttered with no information as to what was happening. Feared the demise of Jo.
Probably a good thing if it is to be brought up to scratch in some respects, but let’s hope it retains its original charm and quirkiness.
Any information as to progress would be welcome.

Please keep us posted on the fate of Jo Goldenberg’s Restaurant. We have spent many occasions through the years in this memorable restaurant. Jo was especially welcoming to us. Thank you.
